Raiding Questions

Before signing up for raids, you must first read, understand and meet all requirements in our Raiding Guide and obtain Raiding Clearance.

What are the standard raiding times for BT?
The most current raid days and times are displayed in the Raiding guide. Please check the calendars and the run approval posts for specific times and more details on what each run intends to clear!

I have an account on the forums. What else do I need to do?
Welcome new members!
Now that you are a Thug the first thing you should do is read the New Member Handbook. That will walk you through a number of next steps you should perform.
How do I sign up to raid?
As a guild, we want to progress through content. For that to happen we need as many signups for raids as possible. To prepare yourself to attend raids with BT, please follow the steps listed in the How to sign up for Raids guide. After finishing up the process, go to the calendar and sign up for some runs.
- Please ALWAYS sign up using your main toon, even if you wish to bring a different toon to that raid. If you wish to bring a different toon than your main, simply indicate so in the notes on the signup page. The raid leaders will change your signup to reflect the toon that they would like you to bring once the rosters have been set.
- Check the Raiding Clearance guide for more general information on raiding, when to sign up, how to get approvals, etc.
- Show up early with your consumables and great attitude.
- Watch this video for an overview on using the calendars to sign up for raids
Important notes:
1. If you do not sign up for raids using your main, you WILL be wait listed.
2. You may sign up for raids without obtaining Raiding Clearance first, however you may be wait listed in favor of toons that have raiding clearance.

How do I change my main?
The guidelines for Changing your Main can be found in the Raiding Clearance under "Main Toon and Main Role Change Guidelines"

Why do I need to sign up for raids with my main?
Because we have a large number of toons that wish to raid, we use a rotation system to work as many toons through the content as fairly as possible. In order for this system to work well, we require all toons to sign up for all raids with their DECLARED MAIN TOON. If you wish to bring an alt to a raid (instead of the main toon) then in the notes section on the calendar, please indicate which of your alts you would like to bring. This makes it easier for the raid coordinators to cycle through rotations as well as allowing them to accommodate your wishes provided the alt you wish to bring is needed for a given run. Rotations occur by ACCOUNT, not toon. In addition, EPGP is earned and spent by account, not by toon so we need your help in making the behind the scenes bookkeeping run smoothly and fairly!

I've been waitlisted. How do I make sure that I am earning EP for this run?
We are using the whisper feature in the EPGP addon. For in depth information about EPGP and the whisper feature, check out the What is EPGP guide and go to the link "Whispering for Waitlist EP payments".

How do I know what to do for a mob or boss fight?
Raid Leaders will review the significant fight strats before beginning, but every raid member is responsible for finding a write up and video (if available) on the Raid you will be doing. You must read and watch and understand what you will need to do in the raid before accepting an invite to the raid group. For newer fights, the Leadership try to find and post links for everyone. It never hurts to read several of these to get different perspectives on a given fight.

Are there any special things I need to bring for any current bosses we are doing?

There are no special gear requirements for ICC, ToC, or Onyxia. Please be sure to bring enough flasks, elixirs, food, potions, reagents, poisons, etc to last about 3 hours.

When are raids approved?
Raids are available for signup weeks in advance. On Sunday, before the scheduled raids for the week, the raid coordinators begin the complex process of viable raid creation. If there are enough signups, a roster will be posted on the forums on Sunday. For more specific information, please see How to sign up for raids.
If you think you can attend a raid, sign up for it. If you aren't sure you can attend or know that you might be late, sign up with a note that explains your circumstances. If you need to cancel, even at the last minute, please notify us by posting on the raid forum page as well as removing your name from the calendar. It is easier for the raid leaders to sub someone in last minute that to wonder what happened to you if you are a no show.

Where do I go to get help with class related issues such as gear, gems, enchants, spell rotation?
CLASS ADVISERS
Whether you are prepping a toon for a new raid level, have checked out World of logs and want to improve your game, or wish to improve your pvp abilities (check the parentheses next to names for pvp vets) these advisers are here to help. Just pop them a whisper or catch them in vent to explore the possibilities! If you can't catch them online, send them a private message on the forums with a link to your gear and the questions you have. They can advise on many things such as gear choices, stats to watch for on gear, what gems or enchants to put in your gear as well as spell rotations to try and more! Check out the list near the bottom of the Who's Who guide. This list of advisers is under maintenance.

Web Site Questions

How do I see the forums in classic mode?
If you are looking for a more traditional view of the forums, try clicking on the little "Classic" link at the top of the forums and then click on the "Show Classic Forum Overview" link. Then you will get nice little folders of threads instead of the big massive list. Just like the "old" boards.
How do I get one of those fancy forum signature graphics?
There are a number of providers of Armory-generated signature images.

Once you have generated a sig, you will be given a link to the image file. Many sites offer you a "BBCode" version of the sig. When available, that is the one you want.

Copy the BBCode text to the clipboard and then login to the BT guild site. On the left side, you should see a link titled "Edit Account". Click that link. Scroll down to the section called "Forum Signature" and paste the BBCode that you got from the sig generator site. Click "Submit" to save your changes and you are good to go.
How do I make one of those cool animated avatars?
There is tool called WoW model viewer where you can view all sorts of crazy wow related characters. You can also create a mockup of your character and import your current armory gear or create a pic of you in your wish list gear! Not only can you create a still picture of your toon, you can choose to have your toon do one of many emotes and save the file as an animated gif. If you wish to create such an avatar, make sure that it is only 150 by 134 or it won't post correctly on the avatar forum space.

This is not an addon and so it goes in your program files folder.
I submitted a "Request for Item" form, now what?

Once your Request for an Item has been approved, you simply have to ask any officer in game to grab the materials for you. They can double check the form when you send them a whisper, but they might not always check that list before logging in each day. When in doubt, send them a tell!

Game Questions

What are "DAILY QUESTS" and where do I start?
Daily quests are repeatable quests first introduced in patch 2.1. These quests have significantly better rewards than normal repeatable quests. Patch 2.2.0 saw the introduction of more daily quests for seasonal events.
In Patch 2.3 new daily quests were introduced for instances, battlegrounds and cooking.
Patch 2.4 increased the number of daily quests to 25, introduced heroic and regular instance daily quests, a fishing quest, and opened up the new Isle of Quel'Danas for us to explore!
The Wrath of the Lich king has brought many dailies to help us increase our reputation with almost every faction available!
Patch 3.1 has brought the Argent Tournament to Azeroth and a new fishing daily. Champion your home city, train to champion the other capitol cities, joust your fellow Azerothian or perform the new tasks to help build the Tournament grounds and hone your skills!

How can I protect myself from being hacked?
While there is no sure fire weapon against hacking (yet), there are some things you can do to keep your account safe.
- Don't share your account information with anyone. Blizzard will never ask you for your account information so don't trust any emails in or out of game asking you to follow links to somewhere to enter your account info.
- Use anti-virus and anti-spyware to warn you if your computer finds suspicious files/programs on your computer.
- Don't click on links to adds or banners if you aren't sure where they will take you. Hackers have been known to imbed keylogging software in links.
- Blizzard currently sells an inexpensive authenticator device that helps protect your log-in. Order yours or read more about it at: http://us.blizzard.com/store/details.xml?id=1100000442
