Benevolent Thuggery
Code of Ethics and Rules

The purpose of the code is to provide guide lines to make the game and the guild as enjoyable as possible for everyone.

Mission Statement

To enable a fun, family-like atmosphere where mutual respect and personal responsibility allow everyone to enjoy the game at their own pace.

Guild Conduct

General guidelines
  • "The Thugs" are a group of people that help fellow members. Guildies must understand that in order to improve the guild as a whole, they must help each other out with instances, items, or quests.
  • Be respectful of your fellow guildies in chat:
We do like to have fun in guild chat; there is usually some good natured ribbing which is acceptable.
  • Please keep in mind that body language and tone of voice don't always translate in chat as you may have intended. Absolutely not acceptable: Cursing of any kind ie: F**K in guild/party/raid chat. Making non-constructive critical remarks to players regarding their abilities, and insensitive discussion that could hurt a person or group of people (based on race, religion, sexual orientation, etc).
Conduct outside the guild

Benevolent Thuggery is a proud guild and we want to be known in the community as some of the best players around.
  • Treat players outside of the guild with respect, remember you're wearing the <Benevolent Thuggery> tag under your name and thus you represent the guild when you are out in the world.
  • We have all run into difficult situations with another players, do not lower yourself to their level, try to walk away or use the /ignore function. You can always contact an officer for advice or help with a situation.
  • PVP by its nature calls for actions normally frowned upon, Benevolent Thugs conduct battle with honor. Use of emotes such as /spit should never be used, instead engage and defeat the enemy.
Public Guild Bank

The Guild Bank exists to help the guild as a whole as well as to distribute items of need to its members.

There are some conditions to think of when asking for an item or removing an item from the guild bank.
  • Do I really need this item now or can it wait till I can farm it.
  • Guild participation - Helping others in the guild.
  • Overall need of the item < is this an alt that you are going to be playing continually.> May not need an item over someone who is consistently showing up to events.
  • Recognitions - I have donated often to the guild bank to help others and now I am looking for a little help ie: I have farmed the 24 primals I need for my chest item I only need 2 more to complete it.
  • Treasurer's job is to review who has been just taking from the guild bank without donating to replace or at least help guildies.
  • Please send an in game mail or private forum post to any officer to recognize a guildie that may have not donated items to the bank but may have helped in some other way, such as helping you get your piece of armor by organizing raids or helping you farm items for a quest, or help the guild in other ways.
    <No self nominations>
  • The officers may decide to sell certain items in the bank in order to increase the guild fund. The treasurer will often clean out the bank occasionally to sell items and deposit those funds back in the bank.
  • The guild bank is handled by officers.
Items in Tabs that you can access
The amount of items that you can remove from the bank in a given day is based upon your rank in the guild. If you are an initiate or a technician, then you have access to the two all tabs in the guild bank. If you are a veteran, you can remove items from both all tabs and from the two vet tabs. The amount of items you can remove from each tab that you can access are listed below:
  • Initiate mains - all tabs only - 2 withdrawls per tab
  • Technician mains - all tabs only - 5 withdrawls per tab
  • Veteran mains - all and vet tabs - 5 withdrawls per tab
  • Thug alts - all tabs only - 2 withdrawls per tab
  • Raid leaders - all, vet, and Raid leader tabs - 5 withdrawls per tab
  • Officers - 20 withdrawls from any tab in the bank
Remember that there is a record of every withdrawl that you have made in Wow armory. Please ensure that if you do take items for your use, that you deposit other items over time. We don't need an item for item replacement, but if you find yourself with an excess of something that might be of use to your fellow guildies, please consider dropping some of it in the bank. Since gray items have almost no use to anyone, vendor those instead of cluttering the bank please.

Items in Tabs that you cannot directly access:

Please submit a http://benethugs.dkpsystem.com/rfi.php Request for item ticket on the forums for items that reside in tabs that you cannot access. Once your request has been reviewed and approved, you can contact any officer in game to have them move your items to a tab that you can access to keep a record of that transaction for theTreasury officer.

Each guildie may request up to five items per week per tab.

If you find that the item you requested is no longer needed then please replace the item in the tab from which it was obtained.

Distribution

If there are two or more guildies requesting the same item, the following criteria will be taken into account to resolve the conflict:
  1. Order of preference as listed in their request
  2. Guild Bank contributions
  3. Guild activity
  4. If the officers agree a tie still remains then a random roll for 1-100 will be used to determine who gets the item
  5. Any disagreements or distribution of epic/rare items will be decided upon by the officers

The Guild bank is a privilege not to be abused. If we detect any abuse to our guild bank system you will risk losing your membership in the guild.

Abuse can be seen as but is not limited to ...
  1. Removing items to level a profession at a level your character cannot use so that you can use it at a later date once you can use it. (ex: lvl 40 tailor withdrawing netherweave cloth)
  2. Removing multiple items every day without contributing in any way. We know there are multiple items that are hard to get right as you reach level 70 in the bank and we don't have a problem with people using them to gear up, level your skills, and have fun. All we ask is that if you take things to help your self then be considerate and try to contribute what you can.

Keyloggers/Hackers

If hackers gain control of your account your rank will be changed to <Needs Review> status where you will have no access to the guild bank or other features.

Items you receive from the bank are for your use:
If you receive an item from a drop that you obtained earlier from the bank, the item should be donated to replace what you used and not as a way to make some gold.

ALL DRAGONBLIGHT ALLIANCE TOONS IN GUILD
  • We use the honor system for this. All Toons are to be in BT EXCEPT BANK TOONS and other toons you do not "play".
  • Once you join the guild you have appx 4 weeks (your Initiate rank period) to get all your actively played toons in the guild. If you have an inactive alt that you begin playing later, please whisper an officer from your main or a toon that is already in the guild to request that they be added to the in game roster.
  • Please note that it is not acceptable to keep ANY of your toons in any other guild for any reason.

INACTIVE ACCOUNTS

If you do not log on your main toon for 3 months, all of your toons will be removed from the guild following the procedures outlined in The Book of Thugs Article 4, Section 4: Removal of Abandoned members. If you speak with an officer and let them know you are going on a leave of absence, then your toons will be allowed to stay in the guild for 6 months without contact from you.

If an alt has not logged on for 1 month, it will be removed following the procedures outlined in The Book of Thugs Article 4, Section 5: Removal of Unplayed Alts. If you begin to play that toon again, you simply need to contact an officer while on your main toon or another of your toons that is still in the guild to add the toon back into the guild roster.

If your entire account is removed and you wish to rejoin when you return to WoW, you will need to reapply.

Leaving the Guild

Benevolent Thuggery is a family with families. Real life is important to us all and we realize that sometimes life dictates changes in play times and other things. As an example, we understand that sometimes the raid times we run do not work for everyone and that you might feel the need to find a guild with times that fit more appropriately with your schedule. We do ask that if you choose to leave, that please speak to an officer first. Doing so will leave the door open for you to return in the future. Please be aware however that if you should chose to leave for a third time in good standing, you may not be allowed to reapply to the guild.

Should you leave BT and then wish to return, you will need to reapply. The Officers will review the matter and be in touch with you.
